DIY banana/avocado hair mask

Ingredients:
1 banana
1 half of an avocado
3 teaspoons of extra virgin olive oil

Instructions:
1. In a bowl smash the banana and avocado together and add the 3 teaspoons of extra virgin olive oil.

(The mixture is supposed to turn out looking very smooth and creamy. Make sure there are no chunks of banana and avocado in the mixture when you apply it to your hair.)

2. In the shower wash your hair with shampoo and instead of applying your regular conditioner apply the mask.
3. Clip hair up and leave the mask on for at least 30 minutes.
4. Rinse the mask off and conditioner hair with regular conditioner.

My experience:
I decided to make my own hair mask the other day because I noticed that my hair was looking very dry. I smashed a banana and an avocado together added olive oil and applied it to my hair. I didn't make sure that the mixture was smooth and creamy first. I applied the mixture with chunks of banana and avocado. Well, when I attempted to wash the mask off I had trouble. So make sure to mix the ingredients together with an electric beater or even a blender. After I washed it off and let it dry I did notice that my hair looked a bit more shiny and healthy.

Lately...

Last weekend I celebrated my one year marriage anniversary. We also celebrated seven years of dating! It feels great to know that I have found that one person whom I am going to grow old with. I love this guy so much.
I blame my lack of blogging on my friend Liz, just kidding Liz! My friend stayed with me for a little over a week. We had a blast I wish she could come more often.

I met up with Aggie from RxQnAesthetics at Starbucks on Thursday. It was great chatting with her and getting to know her. We plan on going shopping one of these days. I have to show you guys all the great things I won on her giveaway!
I am taking a nutrition class and I am getting so into it. I'm learning so much, I have even started to eat healthier!
I used to do toning exercises every week. For some reason I stopped, but I am getting back on it!
I feel like my hair is always so done up. So I started using this 2 inch barrel curling iron & only curling the ends. I love  how it looks...it just looks simple & effortless.
I joined Summer's & Melina's Valentine's Day card swap. I am beyond excited to start making my Valentine's day card =D
My husband made me believe that I had lost my cell phone for two whole days. In reality he had taken it from me and was planning on surprising me with a new iphone for our anniversary.  I can't believe he made me suffer first! I thought I had lost my cell phone!

I've also been meaning to do this. Thanks Melina for the award!

Yes to cucumbers reviews

(picture from weheartit.com)

Happy Wednesday! Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas! Just wanted to share with you guys what I've been using to remove my makeup. I've used other facial wipes, but these wipes are my favorite. Also I wanted to tell you about the soothing eye gel that didn't really work for me. Yes to cucumbers is one of the five collections from YES TO which is a line of hair and skin care products. The products are organic and made out of vegetables and fruits.

So let me start with the towelettes which come in this really fun green bag. Let me start by saying that I love the scent of these wipes. They really do smell as fresh as cucumbers...yum!  Not only that, but I love how my face feels after I use these. I try to use them every night or when I am feeling too lazy to wash my face. I must say that they leave my face feeling extremely fresh, awake, & clean! The ingredients are amazing and of course organic.

Since I loved the towelettes I decided to try the soothing eye gel by yes to cucumbers. Even though I love the scent and the ingredients, I wasn't satisfied with the product. It's meant to soothe and depuff tired eyes, but I feel like it didn't do any of this. The gel did feel amazing on my skin, but I noticed that my skin was irritated the next day! I wish I wouldn't have spent my money on this, but oh well.

Here are some other products that I want to try by yes to cucumbers-

Have you guys tried any of these products?
Also go check out Summer's blog! She had a giveaway recently and I won! I was so excited, here is what I won-

I'm having a giveaway of my own too. Join my BURT'SBEES GIVEAWAY!
Hope you're all having a great week!

GiGi all purpose honee

Happy Friday everyone! I realized that I did four outfit posts in a row so I decided to do a beauty post today. Have you guys ever used any products by GiGi? I have been using their waxing products for five years now. It wasn't until I went to beauty school that I learned how to use this wax correctly.
I bought my all purpose honee by GiGi from Sally's beauty supply for 10 dollars.  I usually buy the 12 oz, but since it lasts forever I decided to get the 8 oz this time.  I  love this wax! I use it to remove any unwanted facial hair, but I've also used it on my armpits (it was very painful!).

How I use it:
The wax comes with a clear lid first I remove it and then I heat the wax in the microwave.

I like to heat my wax for 2 minutes. I mix the wax with a stick and place a small amount on my finger to check how hot it is.

Then I just apply the wax evenly in the direction of hair growth. I use enough wax to thoroughly cover the hair.

When you apply too much wax it's difficult to remove. So I don't apply a thick amount.

Then I apply the paper strip in the direction of hair growth  and I run my finger over the strip.

I remove the strip in the opposite direction of hair growth and I'm done.  After that I like to put a little baby oil on the skin.

I bought my paper waxing strips at Sally's beauty supply as well. I bought the waxing sticks at a dollar store and they work just fine.

I love he fact that I'm saving so much money by doing my own waxing at home. I bought my wax for 10 dollars and I know that it will last over a year! Hope you guys have a great weekend!

Choco-Latte & Midnight in NY

Hope everyone had a great weekend! I wanted to show you guys my new polishes. The other day my cousin Claudia and I were talking about how much we love these polishes by Sally Hansen. They're called the complete salon manicure and they work very well. I love the brush that comes with the polish it is so easy to use. I was at Walgreen's the other day and I picked these up they were on sale 2 for 10
they are usually 7.99 each! What are your favorite polishes?

Random to do list

Happy Friday! I can't believe the weekend is already here. Ok so here is my random to do list. I am obsessed with making lists! I even make some when I go shopping so that I can focus on the things that I actually need to get. Am I the only one who is into making lists? What about you guys?
I want to wear my leather jackets but this weather is not letting me. I'm starting to really dislike the heat!
I want to be able to sit down and read books that I am actually interested in. All I read is books that are assigned to me at school!
I want to buy a beanie! The other day my sister came to visit from California and she brought her beanie from Urban Outfitters. I've never been into beanies but after I tried hers on I fell in love.
I really need to start eating healthier! During my breaks at school I always end up at McDonald's which is conveniently across the street from my school (not a good thing).

I need more glitter polishes!
I mentioned in another post that I am going to paint my bed set black. It still has not happened and it is really bothering me!

I want to pamper myself by giving myself a pedi this weekend! I love pedis!

Hope you all have a great weekend<3
